When used with tactical monitoring, business process monitoring is essential for measuring and improving the performance of online web sites. GNW can aid our customers in devising complex strategies which dissect web performance and isolate the impact of back end systems. Now, for the first time, even remote web sites can be analyzed and the contributory latencies of online applications and backend systems can be measured. Business Process Mapping

Business process mapping is the process of simulating user activity within a target web site. GNW can record and playback scripts that simulate user behavior. This process, sometimes called “click stream simulation”, allows web operators to gauge the performance and stability of their online applications.

As GNW steps through an online transaction, all cookies, forms, and even ActiveX controls will be fully supported.

The resulting data sets contain the same valuable granular metrics as standard web monitoring – and users will be able to see metrics for each step. GNW provides our customers with clearly defined steps to explain exactly what the transaction process is measuring.

GNW has the capability to design custom solutions which support extremely complex transactions, even transactions that travel to other services beyond the web site. So, if your web site hands off to another service, such as an Oracle database, GNW can still track all of the required steps and provide a round trip metrics and detailed step metrics. Again, as you work with GNW to deploy your custom solution, GNW will ensure that your transaction is working properly and will be able to provide complete information about the exact process employed to collect metrics.

GNW can also support many kinds of complex logins and users sessions – if the web surfing user can do it, so can GNW! JavaScript and ActiveX are no problem for our transaction engine.

The transaction engine inherits all the flexibility of the basic web monitoring solutions, so you can track performance as if the user was using any browser, you can select any monitoring location in the US or Europe, and errors will be sent to you via our standard notification system.
