GNW Overview

Global NetWatch, Inc. was formed in January of 2000 to bring to market a new vision for web site management and optimization through a unique and powerful tool, in development since 1996. Global NetWatch, Inc. is the sole owner of the Global NetWatch Monitoring and Optimization Service, which is an outsourced solution utilized by web management worldwide to externally measure the performance of an organization’s entire Internet presence, to include the network, the web Infrastructure, and DNS, FTP, and Email. Web property operators can, for the first time, measure and optimize every aspect of their Internet presence with ONE tool.

GNW measures the performance and availability of web site services such as critical transactions (click stream simulation), static and dynamic URLs and redirects. GNW also measures network latency, network routing, and DNS, Mail and FTP servers. All metrics are collected from a geographically diverse network of remote monitoring stations on the public Internet which have been isolated on specific Internet backbones.

GNW gathers highly accurate, synchronized, low-level performance measurements. GNW performs measurements at multiple intervals, illustrating those measurements in graphical and tabular formats in real time. The last 7 days of collected metrics are always viewable within each subscriber’s account. These measurements, as well as the provided diagnostic tools, allow the subscriber to quickly identify the root cause of performance degradation, thereby facilitating the rapid repair necessary to protect revenue, reputation, and to maintain high quality customer service.

The Global NetWatch system will immediately alert designated parties via email, text messaging, or SNMP trap should a specific monitored device or service become unavailable from the public Internet. All historic performance metrics gathered on behalf of the subscriber are warehoused and available to them at their request. These long-term metrics are very valuable to those subscribers who are involved in web infrastructure planning.
